Academic Integrity Mini-Course

Announcements

  • A mini-course on academic integrity has been added in 2009/10 to the UNENE curriculum.
  • The course is compulsory for all UNENE students.

Description

The purpose of this course is to ensure that all UNENE students understand the concepts behind academic integrity and the penalties if they get on the wrong side of it. It is being introduced so reduce the chance of mishaps due to ignorance of university expectations - which can be quite different from an industry environment.

Administration

The course consists of a one-hour session, and includes lectures and an open-book individual test. Students are required to pass the test, which is not difficult. If they fail, Graduate Studies will be notified and students will be required to take a full-day course at McMaster University, or the equivalent in the university they enrolled in. You will need to complete the course in order to complete your UNENE degree. The course material is attached herewith (minus the test!).

The first session will be given live as part of UN0801 - thereafter as part of other core courses or by distance education.
